MG Architects DonegalMGA - Architects are an established RIAI registered architectural practice based in Buncrana, Co. Donegal. Michael Galbraith founded the practice in 1990 and worked tirelessly to gain the strong practice reputation that it holds today. His daughters, Anita & Breege, now run the practice since Michael’s passing in 2016.

MGA work with many different project types from small domestic extensions to large commercial developments. Practical experience together with theoretical building/design studies has made us aware that a building must function in harmony with the needs of its users and that this is fundamental in achieving a successful design solution and completed project.

We believe in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and consider it essential for the professional architect to remain in touch with the changing technology and standards. We have a wide range of experience in design and build projects which encompass all aspects of the professional architect’s private practice - including private and social housing, commercial and industrial buildings, hospital refurbishments, school renovations, housing development schemes, hotels and leisure projects.

It is our policy to provide quality and confidentiality in our work to all our clients and we are confident that our reputation for providing a professional service is the key to our continued success.

The Team

Breege Galbraith - Architect

Managing Director, Breege Galbraith, is MGA’s registered RIAI architect and has been working for the practice since graduating from the Robert Gordon University School of Architecture in 2009. Pre graduation, Breege spent many summers working and learning from her architect father. She developed her love for architecture from an early age. She loves traditional Irish architecture with a modern twist. Breege completed her own self-build in 2018 and has gained a lot of media coverage for her bespoke dwelling.

Anita Galbraith – Valuation Surveyor & BER Assessor

Director, Anita Galbraith, joined the family practice in 2000 after graduating from Glasgow Caledonian University.
Anita is a member of IPAV and TEGoVA and currently holds TRV (Residential) and REV (Commercial) European valuers’ status. The Blue Book standard of valuation is the highest quality valuation upheld by banks and many institutions throughout the European Union. Her professionalism and constant drive to learn the changing standards within the construction industry ensure she is fully up to speed within the construction and property valuation sector.

Anita is also one of the first qualified BER assessors in Ireland since its introduction in 2007 which she has upheld to date and is a registered assessor with SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland).

Rose-Marie Porter – Architectural Technologist

Architectural Technologist, Rose-Marie Porter, graduated in 2010 from the University of Ulster with a BSc (Hons) in Architectural Technology & Management. Rose-Marie joined the MGA team in 2015.
